We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer (Fullstack) to join our dynamic AI R&D team, to support various AI/ML (multi) cloud based projects, daily activities and ongoing AI initiatives within the Nemetschek Group. The team is part of the AI Hub R&D and this position will report directly to the AI R&D Lead / Principal AI Scientist.

Overview:
This role targets a mid-level engineer specializing in collaborative AI/ML cloud deployment, with emphasis on supporting infrastructure and processes that enable production-grade AI solutions. The engineer will work closely with internal/external teams and European stakeholders, requiring strong GCP expertise and some travel each quarter for alignments with stakeholders and workshops.

This role balances hands-on development with an important part of cross-functional coordination, requiring skills across technical and business domains.

Requirements:
AI/ML cloud production and deployment

• Lead GCP-centric deployments (Vertex AI Pipelines, Cloud Run, GKE, Firebase,

Pub/Sub,...), while integrating AWS/Azure components (e.g., SageMaker

endpoints, Azure Cognitive Services).

• Develop, together with a team of developers outside of Europe, shared

components in Python (bonus: Node.js) to serve the internal facing

components of a full application based on AI/ML (e.g. Backend API, Middleware).

• Build monitoring systems for system analysis and performance benchmarking,

potentially across hybrid environments (GCP + AWS/Azure).

• Collaborate with internal teams (agile methods, Jira, Confluence, ...) and

external partners to co-design and develop AI/ML pipelines, ensuring

alignment with organizational and client requirements.

Production Support Systems

• Partner with AI Architects for deploying model-serving infrastructure using the

cloud infrastructure, focusing on GCP, considering worldwide high-throughput

workloads.

• Together with SRE engineers, implement robust strategies (e.g. Failover, backup

for AI artifacts) for running and monitoring (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Cloud

Logging)

• Partner with Cloud providers for best-in-class solutions
• Partner with DevOps/SRE teams to harden systems for GDPR/SOC2 compliance.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with external AI vendors to integrate third-party models (e.g., LLMs)

into enterprise workflows.

• Document system architectures for both technical teams and non-technical

stakeholders using Confluence.

• Conduct quarterly on-site workshops (20% travel) with European clients and

engineering teams to align priorities.

Qualifications:

• Relevant study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience in AI development, machine learning, data science or other relevant

research areas

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Proven track record in AI applied research and development of innovative software

solutions

• Strong tech skills (see above) and excellent understanding of software testing

methodologies and quality assurance processes

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts

to diverse audiences

• Experience working on a global, distributed team
